Charlie Wright, Ltd. is a family owned business that was founded by Charlie Wright in 1948. He began his wig making career in 1922 as an apprentice wig maker and later worked as supervisor for the wig department at Max Factor. In the early 40’s he became head of the wig department at MGM Studios and later went to Warner Brothers before starting Charlie Wright, Ltd. His daughter, Charlotte, began working for him in 1968. Charlotte worked with her father Charlie and Betty Trusel, his Master wig making assistant, learning the fine art of wig making. Betty was head of the wig department at MGM Studios and was involved with the creation of hairpieces for many movies. Betty Trusel retired a few years ago but still remains in frequent contact with Charlotte.
Charlotte has been instrumental in carrying on the traditions her father started nearly 70 years ago. Every customer is treated with the utmost dignity and respect and provided the best quality product at a fair price. Our work has been seen many times on the silver screen (but not noticed, of course!). Four decades of repeat customers testify to complete customer satisfaction.
